Converting a Lite 18 to 36 watt

Post by ajkimba »

Can this be done with the standard Lite 18 watt PT and OT? I was thinking of adding two el84's to a Brown Note Lite.

Just concerned if the Lite 18 Pt and OT (Brown Note's) would handle the four el84s.

Thanks

No. Output primary is half the impedance and double the wattage with 4 tubes. I don't know if that PT has enough to supply the power rail with enough current and the same for the filaments. Two more EL84's need another 1.52A just for the filaments and probably in the neighborhood of 100-150mA for the power rail.
