Alternate transformer for 36 watt

Post by Tone Mavin »

Had anybody tried using the Heyboyer Trainwreck output transformer in the 36 watt? How about a Plexi or a JTM45 output transformer?

If so what did you have to adjust on the board, if anything.

The OT should present a 4k load impedance, if you're running a quad of EL84s or 6V6s in this type of amp. So probably those other OTs won't provide quite the same vibe.
