Tone Packs available for the Tone Connoisseur

Post by shasen »

Hello eveyone,

While building my amp http://ampsByStirling.blogspot.comand I became an avid reader of this site. I came to the realization that most of us are searching for the ultimate tone in our amps and we DO like to do some experimenting to find it. I've been bit by the tube bug BAD! In April I attended my first estate auction and it has spiraled down hill ever since. In June I had the opportunity to purchase a rather large lot of vacuum tubes about 24,000+ tubes from a radio repair shop. Over many years they had bought out the inventories of about 8 other radio repair shops in a 2 state area.
Long story short. I have a ton of tubes, caps and other goodies to dump onto the market. I'm starting out with ebay to get some seed money to open an online store.

I then had the idea (maybe not a new one) to offer a Variety Pack of pre-amp tubes, instead of the normal pairs and quads that I always see. The majority of these tubes were Radio and Audio tubes, but I do have a small amount of really cool pre-amp tubes along with some EL-84's that you might find interesting.

Some Pics of what about a 1/3 of 24,000 tubes looks like.<br>

Don't like being a spoil sport, but this looks like a classified dressed up as tube talk.
And of course if the rules are applied fairly, there is a minimum number of technical posts requirement prior to posting classifieds ........

I understand your point. Basically these tubes are selling and will continue to sell on eBay no matter what. If you put up a Mullard 12AX7 on eBay it sells.

I couldn't have built my amp without this site. Since I gained Huge Value from the patrons of this web site. I thought I'd give back by just giving a heads up that there are some cool tubes available via my eBay store. It's not everyday that someone from 18watt lands 24,000+ tubes. I'd much rather a nice Mullard, Bugle Boy, or other NOS tube go to the Folks here at 18 Watt. I know that they would appreciate them more. While I think the classifieds here are great, it's just a whole lot easier and less risky selling via eBay.

I'm not sure but it sounds like you don't trust your "brothers" here on 18 watt very much. Just a heads up but there are several of us here at 18 watt and other amp forums who routinely swap parts among each other. There are even those of us who give parts including tubes away to other members. I have been both the giver and receiver of valuable stashes of tubes. I am not trying to tell you what to do with your stuff, but it is not always about making money. Sometimes Making friends is more important. On Ebay you get people bidding prices to ridiculous levels which is great for the seller not so good for the poor working stiff or retired cat just trying to enjoy his hobby. Helping the folks here at 18 watt would be offering a truly good deal on some tubes , not sending us to ebay to "jump in the pool". Just another point of view
