EZ80 filament

Post by plook »

Does an EZ80 rectifier use 1 x 6v filament on one leg and 0 on the other, or does it take 2 x 3v on both legs?

I am messing around with an old Selmer amp and the filament supply is:

3.4v-0-2.8v and this feeds all heaters across all tubes which are:

1 x EZ80
1 x EL84
1 x 12AX7

I want to copy the amp and need to get some transformers made for it and i am not sure what to request for the heaters 2 x 3v or 1 x 6v.

It needs a single 6.3V AC supply across the pair of pins, the same as with an EZ81. Whether you want the heater winding on the PT to be centre-tapped, or you want to use a pair of resistors to create a virtual centre tap, is separate matter not related to the rectifier itself.

However single-ended Selmer amps are not a topic we cover here on 18watt.com, so I recommend SEwatt.com for any further discussion about this amp
