EL844 ....what value cathode resistor?

On the new JJ EL844 with 9 watts dissipation, what shoud be a good value cathode resister in an 18 watter? 220R?

Possibly. At a guess the range from 180 to 220 hms sounds in the right ballpark. You may have to try a few different values and carefully measure the dissipation.

Did you ever try that out? Curious what you found.
Also I'd love to know if anyone has just tried plug & play the 844s with the 125 Ohm and a 50-50 cap.
