Strat Texas Specials - DC Resistance

Post by keith »

Picked up a set of used tan colored pups (with white and black cloth wires) that are supposed to be Texas Special Strat pickups. The DC resistance for TS is supposed to be N=6.2k, M=6.5k and B=6.5-7.1k. The DC resistance for the pups I bought are 7.0k, 10.0k and 10.0k. No markings are on the pups to identify order/type etc. I don't see anything on the Fender site that match these. The closest specs look to be Tele, but these mount like a Strat, not a Tele. Any ideas on these?

Thankyou, for your time and your help.

If they are a standard set, I don't know what they are. Unless they're a stacked humbucking design, or something like that, 10K is quite high. 7K is usually vintage to medium-hot territory. And most sets have a DCR for the middle one which is closer to the neck value than the bridge value. 3K is also quite a large difference. So I'm stumped.

Here are some examples of typical DCR on a number of strat pickups, to give you an idea: http://www.axiomatic-music.co.uk/acatal ... 240906.PDF

Have any pics you could post?
