Folks,
Had to share this with you.
I have been checking out The Gear Page recently, and have come across some really, let's say, interesting folks. Here is a post from one of the members there that made think for a while:

I am still finding new tones in my small array of amps that I gig with. I just don't know when this guy would even have time to play his amps since he'd have to be running around all the time to keep up pace.
Think of the cash he's spent too
150 x $2000 (estimate) = $300K in 2 years
He must be wealthy and unmarried

When I see things like this, a little voice in my head always asks, "Is this for real?"
There is always a small possibility that someone with more money then sense might do something like this but on the internet it seems as if there is a greater chance it is a 16 year old making a wish list. Not intending to insult "Mastervolume" but it just doesn't seem whithin the boundries of reallity to actually own each of those amps. Just the time shopping to find them would take a significant amount of time, let alone time to play them and make the money to purchase them. Imagine if you hit every music store in your area and only played each amp in the store how long it it would take. If it is real, sounds like a case of OCD.

I suppose it could be some 16 year old talking out his butt! I find you can usually tell that by looking at their other posts though. But maybe its just someone with a lot of $$$$.... locally in my area there's a doctor that in 2 years has ordered over 20 custom shop Les Pauls from the local guitar shop... in fact he walked in last week and ordered 3 more '59 RI's.... this is in addition to the Fender custom shops he's ordered and the vintage instruments he has (including 50s and 60s Strats and a real '58 LP).... some people just have money.... its sickening isn't it?
OCD.... I think most of us guitarists have a touch of that don't you think? When do you know you have enough guitars/amps? After the next one!
(Don't remember where I got that or which forum, but its SO true)

Thats quite the list!. But I think I've gotten an email from this Sandpiper guy before ...
Lagos, Nigeria.
Attention: The President/CEO
Dear Sir,
Confidential Business Proposal
Having consulted with my colleagues and based on the information gathered from the Nigerian Chambers Of Commerce, Gear Addiction, And Industry, I have the privilege to request your assistance to purchase the sum of $47,500,000.00 (forty seven million, five hundred thousand United States dollars) in boutique guitar amplifiers. The above sum resulted from an over-invoiced contract with Guitar Center and Sam Ash- executed, commissioned and paid for about five years (5) ago by a foreign contractor. This action was, however, unintentional- because those stores don't actually have boutique amps- and since then the gear has been in a suspense account at The Central Bank Of Nigeria Apex Bank.
We are now ready to transfer the gear overseas and that is where you come in. It is important to inform you that as civil servants, we are forbidden to operate Behringer amplifiers or a foreign account; that is why we require your assistance. The total sum will be shared as follows: 70% for us, 25% for you, 4% for local and international expenses incidental to the transfer, and 1% for the Poison/Ratt/Warrant summer tour.
The transfer is risk free on both sides. I am an accountant with the Nigerian National Valve Corporation (NNVC). If you find this proposal acceptable, we shall require the following documents:
(a) your banker's name, telephone, account and fax numbers.
(b) your private telephone and fax numbers — for confidentiality and easy communication.
(c) your letter-headed paper stamped and signed.
(d) please change all account password to notes of Em pentatonic scale.
Alternatively we will furnish you with the text of what to type into your letter-headed paper, along with a breakdown explaining, comprehensively what we require of you. The business will take us thirty (30) working days to accomplish.
Please reply urgently.
Best regards
Howgul Abul Arhu

Apparently he has quite a collection of guitars too. Maybe a PRO, but who knows. It seems that he has even bought the same amp multiple times in the past 2 years. Why? I haven't a clue. Maybe he sold it before he got a chance to play it. Then had to buy another one
My wife gives me a hard time when I spend a few hundred bucks on a basket case in need to restoration. What! That's amp number how many? Um. I lost track You love me right

I currently have a whopping THREE amps in the basement & four cabinets. My wife asks me why I need so much stuff.
Apparently "so much" is a relative term.
