Monitor suggestion for DAW

Post by tokiyo65keller »

Since lockdown is partially lifted, I'm looking to buy a monitor for office work for at least 1 more month, and then when I get back to office, I will use it to Edit Audios
I don't know what to look for in monitors, except the budget is below 300$ and size should be 21 inches at least.

Depends what you want. If you want 4K, you need to spend more.

That's a great monitor, and the touchscreen should be cool for use in a DAW. I have a couple 24" monitors that are similar IPS LED monitors, but I would totally go for touchscreens now for DAW use if I was getting something newer.

Can you suggest me some more monitors? @rio45william .
Because I don;t want to miss any important specifications because later on it can cause trouble for me.

Digital or analog doesn't matter if the producer knows what they're doing...and it's much easier to get a good recording from a budget digital setup than a cheap analog setup. But I'm sure there's never been a bad analog recording, right? ;)

Ah... vintage self-recording... push the play+record buttons on a tapedeck simultaneously... jeeez I'm glad that we don't have to do it that way no more 😁😁😁

With my band in the 90s, we used to make recordings bouncing tracks on a Tascam PortaStudio 414. I don't miss those days.

My digital setup these days is sliiiiiightly more sophisticated.

Me too. A marantz 4 track... afterwards I bought a boss BR1180 CD. It said " worlds easiest recording studio" but it took me 4 days to make the first recording. Lots of features.. small display

The reel to reel days of self recording were fun and you made fewer mistakes to avoid doing the whole thing again. 1960s. Don't you miss them? Sometimes?

That's the only reason I keep my tapedeck... to listen to old recordings and reminisce.. days associated with no worries and an easy life.. days we were still satisfied with only 1 guitar and 1 amp. Sigh...
