JCM900 power transformer for 18w TMB?

Post by focusbob »

Hi group! I have an old broken Marshall jtm60 that I'd like to repurpose (mostly the chassis) into an 18w TMB. I think the power transformer works (the OT blowing is what originally disabled it), it's a 100w jcm900 PT (dagnall t5826). Here's from the spec sheet:

Would this PT be compatible (I understand it's overkill)? If so, would any modifications to the standard 18w TMB circuit be needed to accommodate it? Thanks!

Personally, I would save that one for a different project and go with something spec'd for the 18W if that's what you want to build.

You're starting based on an assumption that it's still good, and if it is good, it's better to save it for a higher powered project...well, at least in my opinion. ;)
