hello,
yeah the specs on the paz are perfect,290-0-290 HT and a 3 amp filament supply covers you for the standard, lite 2b and superlite 18 watters.

Many folks like the Heyboers also. You can get the Heyboer PT and OT from GDS amps or from Mojotone ("British 18 Watt").

ok so i have got the parts for the build. as per the layout it looks like i need a 3.15v tap for the heater wires for the 12ax7 and el84. since the 290paz doesn't have the 3.15v i will use the 6.3v to power all the tubes for this amp and wiring will be a little bit different than the layout. please advise if you have any suggestion for wiring the tubes.

thank you.

That's what they're for. You don't want to connect the rectifier anywhere else.

Thanks,

awesome. that is what I was thinking. wanted to verify with experts like you.

The heater wires for rest of the tubes - 6.3v will connect to v4,v3,v2 and v1's pin 4 and 0v will be on the star ground. am i correct on this?

Thank you.

No, only specific things go to the star ground. I don't know what amp you're building or working on, but take a look at this layout: files/JMPGuitars_18_Watt_Lite_2b_Layout.pdf

That shows the correct way to ground things, and the correct way to run all the heaters. What circuit are you working on?

Thanks,
Josh
