Blasphemy...I know, but reverb question...

Post by Bieworm »

Could it be theoretically possible, if I add a reverbdriver hammond 1750A and a 12ax7 valve, to add reverb on a 18W classic? Single valve reverb...as geoff suggested...
Would there be enough power from the PT available to do so safely?
It has the hammond PT too...

There is no way I would want that!!!πŸ˜„
I'll refer to you in the future as 'someone πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Maybe you misunderstood, but I meant reverb with both normal and trem channel intact. Just verb on the trem channel is fine, but I'd like to keep the normal channel as is. Just wondering if my transformer can handle the extra 12ax7 for the verb. I will provide the verb with food from a fender-spec'd OT like the hammond 1750A.

side note: there's a lot been discussed about speaker impedance vs output impedance (match, mismatch,...)

but simple question: would one considder putting a 16 Ohm speaker on the 8 Ohm tap a kind of attenuation?
I mean, that is what an attenuator does.. adding resistance, or am I wrong?

you'll need to check the spec on your PT for the 6.3V filament supply, if it's 3 amp it will handle the extra 12ax7.
