18 Watt Lite 2b(ish) Resistor Value?

Post by Jmay »

I’m a newbie at this stuff and I’ve been looking over the 18 watt lite 2b(ish) Schematic and Layout. It is great info by the way.

I had a question though I noticed on the layout I think I see a 180 ohm 5 watt resistor on v3 pin 3, but on the schematic I think I see 150 ohm 5 watt resistor. Am I looking at this right? Thanks in advance!

Hi, that resistor value is arbitrary (in the docs). It probably needs to be 180 ohm, but really depends on your voltage readings. In most cases 180 is correct on modern voltages, but depending on your location and transformers, it could be a different value. The power tubes are biased via that resistor, and you want them to be at the correct dissipation.

Thanks,
Josh
