Post by jckid66 »

Hi All,
I have seen some awesome face plates!! but I want to do my own... how can I label my front control panel and keep it professional looking but yet do it myself?? Now I have seen a guy on here who does his own pedals and his controls are labeled very well VERY professional looking… how can I get professional looking results but yet do it myself??? Thank you in advance for all your help

you could use an aluminium faceplate and etch it. try looking for tutorial at diystompboxes forum, they do some awesome stuff that way.

another way is to do screen print it. it may seem to be difficult but believe me, it's the simpliest method of printing and works on all surfaces. try googling screen print.

i do all my screen print at my friend's printing company but i'm thinking about writing a tutorial how to do it at home. perhaps i'll get to work when i pass all my winter exams.

Hi Bill,

Put up some info in this thread a while back, don't know it this is what you're looking for but it's one approach. I used 1/16" polycarboate, working from the back.

Or you can look into this method.
Dye sublimation printing on a specialy coated aluminum trophy plate.
I posted this a while ago.....call a trophy shop around your town.

Very good results without a lot of hassle or money.

I go to a trophy shop that engraves. I have them engrave a piece of two ply plastic. You have seen this stuff in many places. I paid about $20.00 per plate.
