And what would be a fair asking price? TIAI have a JBL D-131 that was reconed with a 2202 recone and paper dustcap, alnico magnet and 4" vc. The other mate for it have problems so it's a sole driver.

JBL D-131 reconed
Does anyone know if the JBL D-131 speaker would be suitable for a lead guitar speaker. I have a friend with one that's been re-coned...

Make sure the VC slot is blasted clean, and the appropriate new cone is professionally installed.
Note [accding to the article] the speaker was reportedly the focus of redesign to correct mounting and surround problems...not sure what the deal with the mounting problem was...I'd chance dealing with the mounting a freshly reconed 12'' JBL guitar speaker.
