front plate material suggestions

Post by smolder »

I've been looking for front plate material for my builds. I don't sell them so I don't really care about labeling, but am looking for something besides eighth inch plex or lexan.

Ideally, it would be matt or textured black and plastic like... half the thickness of plex and somewhat flexible. I'm thinking something about like the plastic that yards signs in the hardware store are made of... just a different surface. Small quantities (or frankly scraps) would be ideal... any ideas... formica maybe?

I had a local trophy shop make me one out of matt plastic. looks fantastic. I used the free design program from front panel express and printed it off for him. He scanned it in to his computer and used a lazer engraver. Slick

+1, they'll do anything you can imagine.
Classic, new wave, off the wall, whatever!

My local trophy guy did a great near-vintage looking plate for me. I think it cost about $20!
