Anyone try an Alnico Cream 90W with their 18W and/or 36W Lites?

Yes, I have. Nothing really special, to my ears anyways. Alnicos have something in the high end that some people like, some don't. My 18 watt is a Trinity SIII with Trinity transformers.
Another thing with the alnico is that it's about an 1 1/4" deeper than a greenback, and in a 1974 style combo, it hits the EL84s.

I have that speaker for a 1 x 12 with my JTM45 (KT66, Hammond trans). It was allright. Then I put that in a 2 x 12 Bluesbreaker with 2 late 70's 25 watt Blackbacks, 1 is a 75hz, the other a 55hz. That is much more to my liking.
Then I tried the SIII through the old Blackbacks, and that was really good. I may put the 18 watt in the bluesbreaker cab and have a large cab kinda 1973 combo.

I also have a couple 10" Jensen alnicos with the blue frame, I think they're around 10 years old. I built a 5F2 type circuit, but with a KT88 output tube, and the alnicos sound good in that setup.
Maybe it's just the alnico cream, but I prefer ceramic celestions with Marshall circuits. BTW, the Trinity SIII is in the big Bluesbreaker cab, and sounds good, the JTM45 is back in the head box. It was just too heavy as a 2 x 12 combo.

I have a CreamAlnico in a palmer 1x12 box as an extension to my Marshall1974x.
I a/b with an Marshall1974cx extension box. It just blow the MR1974cx box
away - I tried to like the stack of 1974 but it was not worth the money for the
1974cx box (for me).

I can see that. I am hugely fond of the 20W Greenback with an 18W.
