I don’t have a mismatch. I move my 8 ohm speaker to the 4 ohm jack when switching to 18W. It doesn’t pop when switching between 18W/36W but I have to put it on standby anyway to change over the speaker.
It shouldn’t be too far off. As long as the grounded grid EL84s are in pentode mode their impedance will be about 10 times that of the OT.markh wrote: I'm guessing the combined load of the OT and the static EL84s will be even further from ideal than not having them in the circuit at all.
