CE Distribution's little yellow caps?
Guys,
Have any of you built an amp using CE Distribution's little yellow caps? Did you use them in every spot or did you alternate with other cap brands?
What do you think of them?
Thanks,

HI Graydon
Are you talking about the ones from CE that are on page 24 of the 2003 catalogue, that are not Mallory 150 series. If so I have used them with good results. They sound just like Mallorys to me hence they are both metalized polyester. I have a 18 Watt Lite amp that I use as an ever evolving amp test bed. I have those same caps in there right now ( AC-15 values though) and its a nice sounding amp. I don`t have an audiophile ear but I`d say they are a little warmer than 715P Orange Drops. I`ve built this amp over and over using different parts and I find these caps to be acceptable and worth trying. Reliability seems good and I`ve yet to see any fail or be faulty in the 10+ amps that I`ve put `em in. I want to try the Mallory`s again in the near future since CE is selling them this year.
