Transformer Question - 36/18 watter

Sorry I'm on a dial-up account and searching is painfully slow so I'll ask for some one's input to direct me to a thread they might remember.

I am ordering a 36 watter from Ceriatone (might decide on an 18 still not 100% decided). I'm ordering the chassis and board and will source the transformers and choke in North America - Heyborers preferred but I am still open-minded for other suppliers.

What part numbers have you folks used for your 36 and 18 watters?

Just email heyboer with the following for the 36:

Power transformer : HTS-7042 bumped up to 290-0-290 stand up
Output transformer: HTS-7013-1

Where do you guys recommend I buy the transformers - GDS, direct?

Also I have one of Nik's 36w kits coming that these will go into - I read in naother thread that Heyboer needs to know what chassis they are going into as they may have to tweak the mounting dimension alittle - is this the case?

Just received a 36watt set from GDS. Guys a champ, good service, good product - I like to support him. The iron looks real nice too.

Just decided to go with Nik's iron for simplicity - I guess this thread (at least for my purposes) is moot.

You can order the trannies straight from heyboer, buy nik's, or use GDS. I ordered direct and they work fine with Nik's chassis....the only issue I've come across is the fact that heyboer has all the PT secondary wires coming from one side making them to bulky to fit into the 1/2" hole punched in the chassis. You can either drill another hole the same size close to it, add a grommet, and feed the wires through both holes or just widen the initial hole to 5/8" or so. That's what I did...just picked up some assorted grommet packs from an auto supply store and it worked like a charm.
