Vox AC30 reissue transformers ?

Post by stevesuk »

I am still looking for an OT for my 36 watt and i had a look at the Vox website. The new hand wired limited edition AC30 ' with hand wired transformers ' looks promising. I'll give them a ring on Monday and check out the price. The PT is coming from Graydon. The circuit board is populated. And I have got a week off !!!! watch this space.

oh, i was wondering to, or could try using a 50uf cap with the GZ34...
between it and the 32uf cap.. And i was also wondering,or just have to try the weber cap,for the sag..and try the GZ34..or 5V4..and see how that goes..

I have ordered a 30 watt AC30 Output Transformer from Ingo at Shinrock.

Vox UK offered me pre Korg transformers. I actually asked for some of the hand wired recent reissue type.

I'm assuming that this amp is a pre-korg model manufactured around the late eighties and very early nineties. If this isn't the case, please get back to me as the parts below will not be the ones you need.

Best Regards,

Simon.

TF050 OUTPUT TRANSFORMER - TXOPTF050 - IN STOCK - £80 inc.

TF056 OUTPUT TRANSFORMER - TXOPTF056 - IN STOCK - £70 inc.

£150 inc. + 5.00 inc. (postage) = £155 inc.

The cab panels are made, finger jointed and glued. I think it is going to be a tight fit in a 9" combo using a head layout chassis.

I think I'll knock up a head box while I'm waiting for the transformers.

Yep, stay away from the Vox tranny, it's really lame compared to the original 60's OT's.

I know Ingo makes excellent trannies, westlabs has DC-30 trannies from the Matchless bankruptcy sale and Mecury has several Killer AC 30 trannies as well.
