Mark Durham Memorial Fund Give Away - Remaining Items Needed

Post by dartanion »

Hi All,

Things are moving along well with the builds for the prize give away. It is no longer being referred to as a raffle for a variety of LEGAL reasons.

Anyway, the remaining items that are needed:

JTM45

GZ34 - The one Wiggle included was crushed in shipping
Marshall style Handle for Head Cab

Paul Ruby's EF86/Trem

IEC Power cable - the longer the better
Trem footswitch

Shoot me an email if you can supply any of these items.

*************************************************************

Once I've got these things in hand, I can call these babies complete.

FYI - We really need to promote this effort as much as possible. I will be asking all my friends, family, band mates, etc. to donate. I have also contacted some friends in the industry and they are just waiting to see what is included in the Big Give Away.

*************************************************************

PHOTOS OF BUILDS!!!!

I took bunch of photos over the weekend and will post them tonight after editing. I need to color correct and crop, not much else though...phewww!!

Mark H. is putting together a pictorial build guide for his build and will post that (I assume).

Steven (S2) - Can you post some pics of the Vajra build? Also, any update on how the Durham family is doing? We're all hoping for the best for them.

*************************************************************

I'm burning the midnight oil doing what I can, so if anyone wants to help out, it would be very much appreciated.

Areas to help:

Cash for shipping expenses
Textual desriptions of all the builds
Manufacturing of Nameplate(s)
Promotion of the give away
- Fliers
- Emails
- Visits to local shops with fliers
- etc.

*************************************************************

Again, thanks to everyone who has put in the time and effort to make this happen.

:D

Hey Dart,

If you can mail me a name and shipping address I'll send a handle for the JTM45 head cab on to you.

Dart, do you want this one stickied, or do you think we should do a separate thread?

I have those static pages that I'll update periodically as well. I'm in for doing the promotion now that we are closer & know what form this is taking.

We have the 18 watt kit in the works too (head). Gab said he'd collect the parts.

Thanks are in order for those who stepped up to get the remaining bits for the builds.

rjgtr - GZ34 and IEC cable
Strat - JTM45 handle
Spankenstrat - Trem footswitch

Bender,

It probably wouldn't hurt to make this a sticky. There may be more things to cover such as shipping and posting flyers and such.

Just when I thought I had everything, I find I need the remaining few bits for the 18watt Classic build:

3 Tube shields/mounts
3 Wire tube retainers (for EL84/EZ81)

This build still needs a cabinet, but that's a rather large item for one person to pony up -- any ideas what to do for this?

I have a bunch of pictures that I will post when I get some time to sort them out.

thanks,

Mark.,

I am ordering the foot switch and will get the tube sheilds and mounts as well. Did you want the standard aluminum or some cool colors. I was thinking for the foot switch, having my local trophy shop make an emblem to go on it. Like, In Memory of Mark Durham or somthing like the attached jpg. any other suggestions or wishes welcome.

email me.

Just an idea please dont flame me.

What if whoever is in charge of the memorial fund takes some out of it to pay shipping on the items Dartanion has put together?

Especially if they are won overseas.

That is a ton of work and those are some heavy items to ship.
I dont think it would be fair to stick him w all of the shipping.
I dont think this is morally wrong.

I think we could do that. We'll have very minimal expenses to cover so the vast majority of funds brought in will go directly to the Durhams.

Dart, those amps look great. Thanks for your effort in coordinating this.

I stickied this topic.
