Norm (aka EBE) built me an 18 watt TMB!!!!!
Hi Folks! I'm pretty new to 18watt.com - I've been at ax84.com for a while and got a clue to check this place out. Man what a cool place this is! One day I responded to a post by EBE about an 18 watt chassis for sale. I couldn't buy it at the time and about a month or so later, he e-mailed me back asking if I were interested in a TMB he was starting to build. Anyway, long story short, the TMB head is on its way and I should receive it on Thursday!!! I can't wait! The pictures he sent me and the sound clips have made me gaga! I just couldn't wait to tell you all that I'll be the proud owner of one of these fine amps! Norm put in a lot of hard work and it shows. Nice, neat wiring and good build altogether.
Anyway, I just had to tell you. I'll post back with pictures in the gallery and sounds in Zounds. Woohoo!!!!

Thanks, Aaron!
OK, I got it in my hot little hands today. I only got to play it for a few minutes while my wife was at the store and my daughter was asleep. I had to risk her waking up just to hear a few sweet notes....and GOD, are they sweet!!!!! Oh yeah, my daughter didn't wake up. Testament to my sleeping genes. I told Norm that I slept through a tornado once!
OK, here's my first (awesome) impressions:
This is hands down the best amp I've ever owned! Tones all over the dial are sweet as can be. I had to play only through my LP Junior as I'm putting new pickups in the Strat, but Oh my God! I can get that Clapton 'woman' tone, the Pete Townshend Live at Leeds tone, you name it. I tried both channels. They are both different beasts indeed. I love them both, they give a very wide variety of tones. Nice, glassy, creamy, thick tones. THE BEST AMP I'VE EVER PLAYED THROUGH!!!
Big Props to Norm Frech - he put in a lot of hard work and impeccable wiring to make one kick ass 18 watt TMB! THANKS, NORM!!
Pics and sounds to come...stay tuned.
