Stopped by to say Hey!

Post by Boogiedude »

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking around lately and thought I should stop and say hello. My 18 watt is still up and cranking fine. Only the usual stuff, loose input jacks to tighten after moving around a bit. Sounds good with any of my guitars plugged in. I built a 2x10 extension cabinet to go with the single 12 combo, really sounds great that way.

I see several people have started a 36 watt version, but no layout or schematic posting yet. My 18 watt sounds great, but I have found in jamming around, I can't quite cut through well. So I am very interested in this project (actually, I have been having an hankering to build another amp for awhile now). Hopefully someone with post something soon, would make a great summer project. :)

I also noticed the thread recently about age. It is nice to know I could go to lunch with half you guys, and unlike at work, not be the oldest at the table....I turn 50 next year....

Oh well, hope everyone is doing okay. Nice to see the interest and activity is still high.

Till later,

Walter

Walter..glad to see you and you amp are doing well..

Maybe we can talk Gabi,or one of our other members to draw up the layout. Since some of use are useing different type transformers, that may be a little different. But still most of the other things will be the same, and just a few added parts and changes.

Some of our 36 watters will be different than the stock 18s.. but its easy to build a 36 watter,if you just want to keep the stock amp type circut..
I'm sure it will cut through just fine.

Walter!

Welcome and glad to hear that you still enjoy the sound of the 18 watt!

Richie: I'd be glad to take a stab at the 36W layout. If you have the latest schematic, send it to me and I'll take a try.
Also what would help me, would be a good picture of a 36w board.

gabi.
