strain-relief part number?

Post by Gabi »

Anyone knows a part number from mouser for a strain-relief that looks like this one:

Also what size of power cord should I use?

and

What would be a chassis hole diameter for these strain reliefes considering the optimal power cord size?

thanks,
gabi.

Gabi,

I've seen those. They are very cool indeed. I think that an IEC cord is still a better solution though.

Let us know if you find out who has them for sale.

Hi Graydon - thanks...

I actually found that one at my local Sears hardware store for about .75 cents...
I've seen this type in one of our member's gallery picture too - do nor remember who...

IEC is cool for the head version, but for the combo I kinda like the oldish look. Also the fact that the IEC is oriented downwards, is not a plus because in time it might get loose and fall out of the socket (the cord), or if someone trips on the cord and wanks it out of it's place.

gabi.

Richie--

thanks for the links! Whoa - they are quite colorful! That is neat because they give you the chassis cutout dimensions which is crucial to keep that thing in place.

thanks again,
