1x12 weight?

Post by Psalm150 »

Could somebody tell me about what the 1x12 combo weighs? I'm contemplating building one, but the weight might be an issue.
If it weighs too much more than my 30lb. deluxe, I just might stick with that for my 1x12 needs.
Thanks!

I would bet everybody's differs a bit because of speaker weight and weight of the wood used. I have been using pine for the sides and plywood for the top and bottom with oak for the mounting strips. I am trying to balance out the weight and strengh. My current gigging 1x12 weighs 39 pounds with a Weber C12B, but my cabinet is shaped like a Fender deluxe reverb. My Deluxe Reverb II weighs about 50lbs and I hate carrying it around.

Ya, that birtch ply is a lot heavier than pine! My 2x12 birtch 18w is 75 lbs! But the cab is the bigger bluesbreaker size.
