Check out the Jubilee schematic. I just used that exact loop in a Plexi and worked perfectly. I placed it between the treble pot and PI.
Here's a pic...

There is a cheap and very effective way but I really can't post it on the forum. PM me at candhh@yahoo.com.

The FX loop card as used in the JCM800 and 1959 reissue should be pretty easy to build on stripboard if you wanted to go that route as well.
It uses an op-amp driver
but has the advantage of switchable levels between rack-mount (+4dBV) and pedal level (-10dBV), and a very low output impedance so it's good for driving cable runs back to your pedalboard if needed.
I've just built a Jubilee loop and it's nice and straightforward but it's not nearly as flexible and the output impedance could really be lower.
A number of people who have swapped out their PCBs to Metroamp (or similar) PTP boards in their plexis have kept the loop card as it's purported to be pretty transparent.
You might even snag one on eBay as people who replace their PCBs don't always think about keeping the loop card and some have been sold off.

Take a look at the schematic I have posted on this page. It an all tube parallel loop. It's completely transparent. You'll need an extra tube.
