KC
The guitarist who played the awesome solo on 'Everything you did' was a genuine Jewish guitar player called Elliott Randall. Same guy who did 'Reelin' in the years', as it happens.
Regards, C

ps, the 'Steely Dan' of Boroughs' 'Naked Lunch' was indeed an oversized Love-toy.

The guitar part in "Jewish" has EVERYthing to do with tube amps. :D It's a study in tonal brilliance.

By the way, Randy California was also in a band in the mid-60s with Hendrix called Jimmy James and the Blue Flames.

Colin,

Elliott Randall also did the fantastic guitar solo in the song called "Kings" on Steely Dan's first album.

Please let me know if I've offended anyone by going off on this tangent. It surely wasn't my intent.

My next group or culture to focus on for great guitarists will be the Aboriginese in Australia. Or perhaps the great country of Lichtenstein in Europe. It's between Austria and Switzerland, I believe.

When are we (the U.S.) going to invade Lichtenstein, by the way? They are out of control troublemakers.

DOWN WITH LICHTENSTEIN !!!!

(only joking folks) :)

They are far too small to have any impact whatsoever on the world stage.
More of a mouse than a country.

Cal Williams from Yothu Yindi :D Well to be fair he is a non-aboriginal member of an aboriginal band.

'Down With Liechtenstein' would be a GREAT band name.

No?

You know I must have been bored on a Friday night to dig THIS thread back up.

Wife and boy went out of town, so the net was on FIRE tonight !!!!!!

By the way, check out "Schloss Vaduz, overlooking the capital, is still home to the princes of Liechtenstein":

Yes, I'm a half hour away towards Tampa from Orlando

I don't have any Tull for ya,

BUT here are several Jeff Beck vids I just uncovered at youtube. They are fairly recent additions:

This is pretty amazing with his slide in right hand towards the end:

Beck tearing up a Tele in 2001..

He's doing "What Mama Said", but does a SWEET intro, and much of the rest of the song has a mean Tele twang.

Here's "The Pump". It's a version just added the other day of which I'd never seen before:

Finally, here's a super hot version of "What Mama said" from Jules Holland:

And oh yeah !!!

Here's Beck teaming up with Kelly Clarkson the other night:
