Having trouble finding CAPCAN with uncommon value
Capcans are harder to find than i thought they'd be. A Mouser rep told me they don't even carry them. Angela Instruments, Antique Electric and Hoffman do have them but i'm only finding 2 common values close to what I need.
I need:
40uf/40uf 450v
I can only find:
32uf/32uf 500v
50uf/50uf 500v
.... so, what do i do? what are the risks using a capcan under or over the correct value?
btw, this is for a Traynor Bassmaster YBA-1.
thanks

Mundorf make a 40/40 500v that costs an arm and a leg. Here's one supplier.

The YBA-1 is killer for guitar ... unfortunately, my bass player is using it thru a 4x10 traynor cab. we get tone compliments ALL THE TIME with that rig for bass ... probably because it's not the typical fender / ampeg sound that is so common.briane wrote:
PS. how do you like the sound of the yba-1? I built a yb2-a clone a while back and its my favorite amp. I thnk the yb2a is just a smaller cousin of the yba-1.
to answer your question, i love the sound of the YBA-1 for guitar ... but not as much as my new GDS 36w TMB!!!!
