Regarding volume of the "original" trem version...

I'd just like to tell you about the first session with my 18w trem amp-head together with the band.

My fellow guitarist in the band plays on a Laney 100w ss-head with a matching 4x12 amp. Guess which amp the rest of the band complained about, arguing that it was too loud?!

I ran it through my marshall jcm800 4x12 which erased all my doubts regarding the volyme of the amp. It kicked ass!

Normally I play a 50w jcm2000 but the 18-watter does the job almost as good. You won't have any problem to rehearse with your band as long as you don't play extremely loud. Go on and build one right away!

the same happened to me....

strange enough is that in my country the 18Watt amp isn't a known model

so when i put my first Lite2b over a 4x12" marshall amp.... and start playing with the band.... and sounding super BLUESY with my telecaster..

they stop playing after 2 songs to ask me what the F*** was this amp...

(at first all laughed)....
-it's a clone- i said..

-how many watts?? -....

-"18Watt"-

-.... yeah right...-

i have to show them the schematics to make them believe that it's ONLY 18w...

it really ROCK's!!!!

now i'm planning building another 18W (now complete).... just when i finish the cab of my 6G15

I finished up my trem last month, What kind of input jack do you use for the footswitch a regular input/cliff or a stereo switch? My tRem didn't come on when I FIRST TRIED IT OUT!!!

The original Marshall 1974 amps had the trem pedal hardwired to the tagboard.

Most clone builders use a Switchcraft jack for this part of the amp, and ground it to the chassis. If you use a switched jack and normal the switch to the chassis ground when nothing's plugged into it, then the trem will supposedly work without a pedal if you've forgotten to bring one. However, mine isn't stable, I get some oscillation and clicking if I try to use the trem without a pedal. With a pedal it works perfectly. Apparently the capacitance of the co-ax cable to the switch stabilizes the circuit.
