Where would be a good place to post some sound clips ?

Just curious as to anyones preferences when it comes to getting some other opinions about, amp sounds, playing a certain thing, using a specific amp, or guitar,.... you know, just fellow musician stuff...?Trading licks, or amp clips with different speakers...

un-broken in VS after it has been used a while...?

Or am I just stupid, and you can do that here....duh....

I am trying to compete with this sound for my next build, a Ceriatone kit with Shinrock transformers,...the 36 watt EF86 model,....

I am toying with a multiple speaker cab with 8" Tone Tubbies and others,... just as an experiment mind you,.... and I do have to break everything in before really forming an opinion....

but,... the fun goes on...

Not a pro recording, as can be heard by the choppy parts,... but, THAT's the sound I want to duplicate.

We will need to get the "Hear It!" section back online again. It hasn't been cleaned up yet.

This also appears to be stereo 18W amp, so I guess it really belongs in the 18W room.

Oops, on re-reading this I see you want to reproduce the sound with a Ceriatone 36W. My bad. That's why I'm a "Moderator Noob"

I'm sure you;ll have no problems nailing that tone with an EF86 36W, running in it's cleanish zone - with just a touch of breakup.

I have developed that ditty over the years....


He is one of my favs, along with Leo, and some others.

I am playing my 1967 Martin D 12 35....I bought it new... in 1967... so it very well could be older, a 66 maybe.??


anyway, it's the sound from the amp I love,.... with the Mullards, and Amperex tubes, it just freekin sings.

I am really after a head that has the same sweetness in tone,... I already have the EF86, and pleanty of 7189/EL84s to choose from, but am a little light on the 5AR4 rectumfryer tubes......only have two I think... maybe 3,... I have plenty of 5V4s so might use one of those if I feel comfortable that it will work OK.

I will have to test all the voltages at the socket to see if it is within the area I am after.

It's all a good hunt tho, look what you get in the end...!!!!!

...how about writing on paper all PT transformer voltages and get as much info of the OTs ,if you want serious close copy of that stereo 18.
Other.... is more or less matter of tweaking(if you have detailed gut pictures or layout/schematic ...or amp is yours).
