36w Lite?

Has anyone grafted 2 more EL84s on to a Lite IIb and used a 5U4 for a 36 watt Lite??

I have...I usually end up using a 5V4 to drop the voltage a bit.
Cool amp, very different from a standard 18w even with half power.

Does it clean up pretty good when you roll back the guitar volume?

I have a 36W Lite with 18/36 control, but with SS rectification. Didn't I post the schematic I used once for you?

It sounds great, better to me than the 18W, and cleans up nicely with the guitar volume.

I hunted around for it here and on my PC but can't seem to find it. If you can re-post it that would be great. Do you have any photos of the inside of the completed chassis by chance?

Here ya go.

The pics show the amp while still in test. Later on I shortened all the wires down. A lot.
Also I should say that this is the beta tester for the Ampmaker PP36 kit, which may be available one day.

Awesome, thanks Martin and BN! Well it looks like I'm headed toward a Tom Petty tribute band so I'm hoping this will get pretty close. I've been using my 5E3x2 with a 1968 Jensen C12N and it's really close with either a Tele or Rickenbacker...

I notice that you just used a double set of 150 ohm bias resistors instead of splitting the in half like the Ceriatone 36w power section (62R/68R). Was that because you don't do a 1/2 power switch?

Yes, my amp's just doubled up in that respect.
I do have an 18-36 control via the extra pot shown on the schematic, which controls the signal to the grids of the outer 2 valves.
BTW I've never used it! Sounds so much better as a 36.
