Single tube amp?
Does anyone know of a guitar amplifier design that runs off of a single tube? I think I have read something along those lines, but I can't even begin to guess where it would have been. I'm looking for a very simple and cheap build. Any ideas? Thanks.

There are circuits for the ECL86 and/or ECL82 valves which have a triode and (low) power pentode in the same valve. Google for those valve names and you'll find plenty of pages like these: http://www.vintage-technology.info/Page ... lECL86.htm and http://members.lycos.nl/Aren/id13.htm
But - there's always a but
- to be perfectly honest the valve is one of the cheaper components. I reckon that you'd save very little (under $10)over a more conventional two-valve project, like the AX84 P1 or a Champ (with solid-state rectifier).
