After looking at his site to order books, it's kinda confusing and troublesome, so therefore I found a music store in the US with easy ordering. I realize not all of you are in the US of course, but this is the best help I can be:

I'm sure his site has been discussed a billion times here, but hey, there may be some newbies here like me who need meaty info like this.

But you experts here at 18watt.com are the greatest. I'm just trying to steer newbies to the O'Connor site to get books so you all can be relieved somewhat of all our questioning.

I think just about everyone here already knows about those books. From what I hear they are some the best written on the subject,.

I plan on buying 2 or 3 when I get done with these two tube books i just got in the mail.

Yup - I've got TUT3 and TUT5 on order. I ordered them to get circuit ideas outside of the usual Fender/Marshall/Vox classics.

Just don't forget to scour used book stores for the real deal! Old texts from the 40's and 50's are a real treasure trove of circuit ideas! Antique Electronic Supply has some reprints of 'em, too.

Speaking of old school texts, I was doing a search on ebay for 18 watt amps and found this schematic for sale for the "Loftin-White Circuit".

It's an 18 watt amp design supposedly from 1961, but I don't know if it has any use in the applications all of us discuss at this site.

Before anybody builds from that -- might wanna check this out. Something about the Loftin-White Circuit "often blow[ing] up"....

If I'm not mistaken, the Loftin-White is a lot older than 1961, and is a very low-power hi-fi circuit that was obsessed over by audiophiles for a long time. Not really related to what goes on on this site, but it is an interesting design.
