18 watt tones on parade

Post by doctornorbert »

Hey there,

I haven't been hanging on the site much, I've been busy working recording some tunes.

The result is a bunch of songs that I've got up on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/rileysonus. This may be of interest to you all, as the GDS-derived EF86/superlite 18 watt amp that you all have helped me build/tweak over the last couple years is on parade here. All guitar tracks are recorded through this amp, sometimes with various boost pedals for added oomph.

Comments on how to improve the guitar sounds are of course appreciated!

Check it out!

:D

Glad you liked it! The riff is inspired by trudging in the recent heavy snow here in New England...

Thanks, she is 4 years old, and totally untrained. Can hit some of those notes, though!

My daughter insisted on singing on these tracks - she wouldn't let them just be instrumental...! (Glad for that)

I'm using an EV dynamic mic (not sure the model), on an Eminence Ramrod in an open backed cab. The amp is running with an attenuator, quite a bit lower than full volume.

Some of the parts have a germanium Rangemaster on them.

The mic goes into a Soundcraft mixer, which goes into my laptop, and then into Garageband.
