Half power switch on 36w TMB
A couple questions for those who have a 36watter with a half power switch -
1. When running in half power mode, all four power tubes are still lit correct? that might sound silly but for some reason I was expecting only two to be lit.
2. How much of a difference in volume is it between HALF and FULL? Is the difference supposed to be very apparent?
To be honest, I can hardly tell any difference between HALF and FULL - and I'm just wondering if I did something wrong.
I've been using this amp for a year and a half and finally decided to do this mod. I referenced We88er and Ceriatone layouts, then got the OK from Graydon.
Thanks in advance -
Matt

Yes they will all stay lit. The heaters are still connected to all four tubes in half power mode, only the cathode is lifted. I would think the volume difference is subtle, only a few decibels difference. You probably would notice a loss of clean headroom more than anything else. I think power scaling is the better way to go to lower volume.
