Now the I have the amp working I decided to take a few measurements to check the bias of the el84's and have a question as to what the quiescent power disipation should be. Here are the measurements:
Vplate=343V
Vcathod=11.4V
Vgridcontrol=0.2V
Vgridscreen=329V
This gives me approx 90ma of bias current or 45ma per tube. I think that the plate disipation is then (Vplate-Vcathod)*Ibias=15Watts. This seems a little high. I think the tube is rated at 12W. Am I calculating something wrong? If so is 15W normal?
