Pro/Comm ?

Post by adamshame »

Has anyone ever heard of this brand? The local electronics store stocks 12AX7A for $10. I picked up two to try in my Lite IIb, and they are pretty good! They are physically "fatter" than the others I have laying around. I figure they are probably re-labeled Chinese or Russian tubes, but I really don't have a clue.

Anyone else hear of them? I tried a search, but came up with nothing.

I've got a couple pairs of pro/comm 6aq5a's and they look like either RCA or GE relabels from the late 60's/early 70's. I've seen procomm tubes that are Ei, sovtek, and tungsram so they can be just about anything. The best thing to do is to compare with known tubes and see if you can figure out what they really are.

That or just don't worry about it and enjoy them. If is sounds good, it is good.
