My GDS got a facelift!

Post by Duke »

I wondered into the local hardwood flooring company and found a beautiful 10 inch wide piece of soft maple. I had to do something with it. I made this smallish cabinet for my GDS amp. I screwed up the dovetails a bit, but overall I like it. Not traditional, but it sits nicely by the tweed deluxe.

Very nice, I need to do something similar with my recently finished TMB.
This gives me a bit of motivation to get out my dovetail jig and give it a try!

Incredibly nice job on the cab! I like your choice for the wood. It looks fantastic!

That is nice. No, that is very nice. I'd give it a big W-O-W!

How long was that piece of maple anyway?

Thanks. The piece was only 80". I had to get creative with the chassis mount, but it worked out nice once I figured it out. I really liked the fact that it was 10" wide. Like I said, it's not traditional. But it was fun making it.
