Speaker selection advice asked for.....
Howdy folks....
I have a Voxer (18 for me) with a 2x12 cab loaded with one blue and one G12H30.
I am wondering, and reading about the Heritage G12M.
I've been thinking of if it would work better for me than the G12H30.
any thoughts on pairing a blue and G12M Heritage in a Voxer ?? How might that sound ?
Any way to describe the sound between the Heritage and the g12H30 ??
I have also been toying with the thought of another blue or Scumnico....thinking on how that might work for or against.
just trying to learn more about speakers and amps, so any thoughts you might have would be appreciated.
Thank you kindly for your time.
....and yes all of this is from the tone in me trying to fight the walls....

I think most are laying off replying to this thread since you already have an excellent speaker pairing. I could recommend swapping your G12H30 for a Heritage G12H, but a broken in Blue will give you almost as much lower mids girth as the Heritage H, so I'd stick with what you've got. It's gotta be a pretty sweet cab with that Voxer already. As Zappa said, "Shut up 'n play yer guitar!"

thank guys.
Tarzan, that was the kinda info i was looking for.
What you said about the Blue broken in complimenting and so on.
I'm just trying to learn what i can 'cause i aim to build an 18watt for a friend of mine that had all his gear stolen out in BC.
He's my best homegrown buddy, so i'm gonna do what i can.
I'm trying to figure out the idea of sounds and tonal mixtures and all the options.....i gotta know things myself before i can understand how they can work for someone else.
i have that zappa album by the way.
and a mighty fine framed print poster of the yellow shark cover.

Yeah, definitely check out Coco's shootout clip...
Zappa was a genius, that's indisputable. If you were to take his catalog and strip it down to just the choicest tracks you'd still have enough tracks to fill more stellar records than the likes of the Beatles and Stones had combined.
But I digress... it sounds like you're on the right track. Don't forget to look at the Warehouse and other "cheap" speakers for helping your friend. The tone and quality of the off-brand stuff these days just keeps getting better and better!
