2x10 cabinet for Eminece Legend 1028k
Hello all,
I finished my 18W head and I bought 2 Eminence Legend 1028k 10" 35W Speaker with AlNiCo magnet.

I'm looking for a good project for the spekers cabinet.
Could someone indicate me where I can find it?
Thanks
FAB

You'll just need to convert the mm dimensions into inches, like sensible people use.

I just built one of these.

I cut a new baffle for a 2x10, and yes, I made it a floating baffle. It's about perfect for a 2x10. If you put it sideways on the floor, its shape points the speakers up at an angle, which is a good thing. For the price, you almost can't beat it.
I allowed it to grow into a big production and covered it with vinyl. Don't bother, it's a little complicated with the angles. You can, however, remove the screws after the glue is dry, and then you can finish it how you like and it will look ok, just not great. Remember to get grill cloth and handles if you'll be taking anywhere. They sell tolex, gue/adhesive, etc. It pays to get it all there. You need to get the bill up to $99 to get the free shipping.
Just a thought.

If you can get your hands on a Dec. 2008 issue of AudioXpress there's an interesting 2 x 10 cab for guitar designed by Bill Fitzmaurice. If you can't find the magazine you can order plans for the cab from his site. I haven't heard this cab but thought people might be interested in a bit of a different approach. The speaker baffle is 'v' shaped and tilted back so the speakers crossfire in at 20 degrees and upward at 15 degrees. Can be built open or closed back. He also has 2x12, 4x10 and 4x12 versions. The 4x versions were presented in a 2009 issue of AudioXpress but i don't recall which issue.

I have also built a couple of his bass cab designs and one of the subwoofers. Impressive and very efficient.

That's good to know. He's presented a lot of different designs in AudioXpress over the years, usually for PA set ups but in the last year he's done a few for guitars. The 4x is in the May 2009 issue and in the Sept. issue and the Oct issue he has a design that can set up for bass guitar with one 10" woofer or with woofer and tweeter for a full range bass or PA system. He also has a book out there on speaker for musicians.mcrracer wrote:I had a 2-12 built. Put in a pair of Jensen C-12N. I built my bass cabs and the subwoofer about two or three years ago. He has had the bass cab designs for quite a while. The guitar cabs are a recent development. From what I have seen of one of the articles in the mag you really don't get enough info to actually build one. I have purchased the plans for many of his designs. Inexpensive for the detailed how to instructions complete with tips on carpentry for those of us who aren't experienced woodworkers. These designs do not require a lot of power to obtain decent volume levels.
