B&K model 700 tube tester

Post by gayler »

Does anyone have information on this tester. Are they good testers, are they easy to calibrate. This tester has a probe that plugs into different test points. The wire is broken off and I can't see where it goes. Does anyone know where it goes?

It's a nice little tester. Looks like it does mutual conductance. Here is some info.

This is worth a read as well.

The manual is here.

Thanks for the info. It looks like the probe should have a plug that attaches to a socket in the upper left hand corner. Does anyone know where I can get a probe for this?

You won't need it unless you plan on testing tubes with the anode on top. Just have to search the used market or you could probably make one.

Thanks Smokin-Tone! I finally got around to reading the manual at bama and see that I don't really need the plate cap connector as most tubes don't have one. Also I looks to be very easy to callibrate with just a meter and various resistors and turning a trim pot.
