Speaker build question : what is a "2NR M5 tee nut"

The AS112A speaker design PDF calls for using "2NR M5 tee nut" to secure the carrying handle to the top of the speaker cabinet. I'm here in the US and everything is in "standard" measurements at the hardware stores for this type of fastener. Can someone please tell me what 2NR and M5 mean in this specification? If those numbers pertain to metric sizes what should I be looking for in a standard size equivalent?

No idea whatsoever about 2NR.

M5 is simple enough. It's standard (read: not fine pitch) metric thread with outer diameter slightly less than 5mm, so that it can be cut on a 5 millimeter stock. About 0.2in, in other words.

So just use what can be used with the cabinet handle you are going to use.

LOL... ya US is the only place on earth that didn't convert to Metric and it's the standard... not the exception.... Although I am in Canada and could not tell you my height (5'9") in Meters if my life depended on it... well without google ofcourse...

for handles , you'd want the t nuts since they have a wider washer flange.
but for things like small spaces, like the edge of a baffle to mount the speakers, the insert nuts are better,take up less space.. Their are many different types,sizes etc to choose from. Check the link,inexpensive for a bag of these. Also have hurricane nuts,and t nuts

I just looked at the drawing you linked in your other thread. 2NR is that draftsman's way of saying "Quantity: 2". Either M5 or #10 will serve.
