Motorola SH12S valve phonograph amp
I recently acquired a Motorola SH12S 2 channel portable phonograph with 2 x 12AX7, 2 x EL84 and 1 5Y3 rectifier. It is spec'd at 34W peak. It looks to be a good donor for an 18 watt guitar amp. My main question is in relation to the OTs. They are listed as 500:1 ohms in the schematic. I know they won't work with a PP configuration, but I was considering a SE amp. I can't find any info on using such a low impedance OT. Any suggestions on what to do with the amp would be appreciated.

There's no way that amp could put out 34 watts. More like 3 or 4 watts (per channel).
The OTs are single-ended. 500:1 --> 4k:8. Not useful for an 18W.
The PT could work well for an 18 though if you used a stiffer rectifier (I'd just go solid-state and drop it with a sag resistor if it ends up too high).
