12mm or 18mm birch ply for a combo

I'm just building my first combo box but don't know if i should use 12 or 18mm birch ply.
Any advice would be usefull.

If it's a 1974 type it should be 12mm with 9mm back panels.

if you are going for replica then 12mm , allot of amps are 18mm too though.

whats really important is that you get good material. dont use your local builders wharehouse off the shelf stuff.

check out these plans I drew a few years ago for insperation. I have had over 1100 downloads an no complaints yet.
