United Electron 12ax7a= Telefunken?
I picked up a United Electron 12AX7A. It says made in usa painted in yellow. I was looking closely at the insides and I thought they looked kinda like Telefunken insides. I looked at the bottom, and the diamond is there. I know brand labeling was always unreliable. But isnt the country labeling supposed to be accurate?
Thanks,
Jon

Country labels are usually accurate anywhere but the USA - a lot of people have found Japanese and Hungarian valves with "made in USA" stamped on them. I have a couple of Amperex valves marked made in Great Britain which are also suspicious - think they are USA made.
Whatever, United were relabellers. If it has a diamond, I would trust that above the label claim, but pictures would allow a better judgement. If you have never seen a diamond, it is easy to mistake for a GE ejector mark.
For myself, I have only one United 12AX7A, and it has no statement of origin. It does have a Philips code indicating that it was made in Brazil.
