36W sound files

Post by Grange »

OK, so a buddy of mine is interested in having me build him an amp, and I think the 36W might be a good fit for him. I told him "I'll point you to some sound clips" and I bee line it to the Zounds section here. Unfortunately, I quite didn't see what I expected. Which of those folders hold the best example of what a 36W can do?
Sorry for my ignorance, but any help would be appreciated.

these are 36 watter files
http://www.18watt.com/modules.php?name= ... &p=RICHAMP

Also go here
http://services.dynasonic.com/jukebox/A ... Minor.html
to hear the amp recorded live..about 8 or 9 songs.. there is a pause between songs or the stream..just keep listening, and the next song will come on.

You might also try Rienhardt amps,i believe it is the Titian, which is a 36 watter..Bob has some really great players, and good recordings on his site which might give you a good idea of how they sound.

Here's a couple I did over the weekend using the 36W that Richie built for me. Only the solos are the 36, being pushed with a Tonebone Hot British distortion pedal. Cab was a 212 Mojo basketweave with Vintage 30s.

FIFTYWATT/RICHIE.....Those are both great sounding clips both of you did. I love to hear peoples builds. I had no idea those were 36 watt clips Richie, I had always assumed they were 18watt TMB clips. In any case ,great playin, and great build.....really impressed. :D

Hi Guys,

Posting this for Richie. This is a 36 watter he built for a guy in Nashville named Brian. Shows a different side of the 36.

Man...another killer clip. This really makes me want to build a 36. Im not sure what i'd do with it though. Not playin in a band anymore, and the neighbors are already in an uproar about the 18? I guess I'll just listen and drool :?

This is what I get for checking my email too late. The clip I posted was one of the same ones fiftywatt linked to...Richie emailed earlier me that he was having trouble posting it so I went ahead and did it without really checking out the other posts. Anyway, nice work, Brian....very Joe Satriani-esque.

Richie, next time you talk to Bud, you should ask him if remembers which solos or songs he played through the 36 by itself on the album. Last time I saw them live I was trying to pick out what was the 36 and what was the 50 watter. Not that it matters...I'm sure I'll be making clips galore when I finish mine. Allyn is bringing his 36 and his new lite II over to greg's next weekend for a little jam session. I may go if I can swing it.

Most of the Mesa recto series 4x12 cabs had vintage 30's in them stock. I had two of them, and still own one. But if it was the older metal grille Mesa, it could have black shadows maybe,or EV's? :)

I look forward to hearing your clips Richie. I was thinking of doing some clips of my Express, but I wasnt sure if that was gonna be of any interest to the members of 18watt. Me personally....I just love to hear a great amp......period, I dont care what it is really. :D
