quick question been away for a while
I have a friend wanting me to help them build an ac15 normal channel.
its been over ten years since i built my 18 watter with the help from this forum.
can someone point me in the direction if there is a schematic/ layout of such build?
just the normal channel?
i dont know too much about the vox range and im sure someone here know exactly where to point me!
cheers!

Re: quick question been away for a while
If you want the best of both worlds, you could build the EF86 Lite which has the Vox style EF86 preamp on the 18 watt. I've built a bunch of them, they're fantastic amps.
Otherwise, I would go to our sister site at ppwatt.com, they probably have build docs they can recommend of specific Vox clones.
Thanks,
Josh

Re: quick question been away for a while
Over the last couple of weeks I too have been thinking of an AC15 type of design for my next project, and have been looking into the Vox designs and the EF86. The EF86 Lite looks perfect for what I want to do.
I do have one thought for a change though, to add TMB. Any thoughts or recommendations on adding that mod?
Thanks!!

Re: quick question been away for a while
You could go about it a couple different ways. For one thing, you could build a 2 channel, with the EF86 in the first channel, and a standard TMB channel for the 2nd channel.
Or you could build the TMB channel only, accommodating the wiring and biasing of the EF86. You can reference the socket wiring, and power amp changes of the EF86 Lite as a guide.
This gave me a crazy idea I might try out, but it will be a while before I have time.

Re: quick question been away for a while
I'm thinking of just a single channel and incorporating TMB following the EF86, and the EF86 Lite w/TMB would be sweet!!
I'm not ready to start just yet, I have a few things on my plate to push off.
What about a MV as well??
