OC2 voltage regulator tube

Post by crgfrench »

Anyone know of a good source for OC2 tubes? I’m looking at a late 50s Gibson GA100 bass amp for sale and it has a voltage regulator tube OC2 that doesn’t seem to be available at Tube Depot, Mojotone, The Tube Store, Angela, Tube Amp Doctor or Antique Electronic Supply. Looking at the schematic, I believe the circuit would work even without the OC2 installed at all, but probably better to have one I imagine...

I believe it's 0C2, not OC2. There's plenty on ebay and a couple other places including tubesandmore.com have them. There are supposedly some equivalent tubes also, but I don't know enough about that tube to recommend any of them.

Thanks,
Josh
