Power Supply For Tube Circuit Development
Are there any alternatives to the Heathkit Ip-17 regulated high voltage dc power supply?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Look at ham radio gear for alternatives if you can't find a stand alone supply in audio?

Re: Power Supply For Tube Circuit Development
Hickok Teaching Systems (the same Hickok that made tube testers) produced at least two high quality variable supplies, models 5055 and 5056. I believe they're identical except the small 2.5A variac in the 5055 was deleted in the 5056. These were made specifically to power vacuum tube and SS equipment. The 5055 that I use has the following outputs:
6.3 VAC, 3.5A
12.6 VAC CT, 3.5A
0 to 40 VDC, 1A
0 to 400 VDC, 150 mA
0 to -100 VDC, 2 mA
Good luck in your search!

Yes, I have a schematic somewhere. The circuitry is somewhat unorthodox, but not overly difficult to work on. There are no tubes in this supply, it's all solid state.
