Volume drops

Post by Hiwatt5 »

I just built a 5F2A amp and I'm getting volume loss at different points on the volume control as I turn it up. At 0-1 there is no sound, then 1-4ish there is sound, then it drops out again, then comes back, etc. as the volume control is wound up. Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Did you solder anything to the back of the pots? The carbon strip is easily damaged when overheating while soldering
